Livermore Downtown Street Fest is in 11 Days!

I never miss Livermore’s Downtown Street Fest—it’s my favorite way to kick off summer with family and friends! Every year, we make a whole day of it—sipping incredible local wines and craft brews, checking out a ton of musicians, shopping from amazing local makers, and snacking our way through downtown. The kids love the Fun Zone, and I always find a few unique treasures from local boutiques and artists. Wine and beer tokens are just $10, and proceeds support Livermore Downtown Inc., so it all goes back to our community. May 17–18—mark your calendar and meet me there. It’s going to be a blast! Locanda Amalfi Named 5th Best Pizza in the Entire World!

A couple weeks ago, something seriously awesome happened—Francesco Esposito, partner at Locanda Amalfi in Pleasanton, was awarded 5th Best Pizza in the World at the International Pizza Expo in Vegas! Yes, world! Representing Naples, Italy (the birthplace of pizza), he wowed the judges with his classic Pizza Napoletana—made with ultra-specific ingredients and technique. Francesco is one of the world’s few certified Master Pizzaiuoli, and trust me, you can taste the difference. I’ve enjoyed numerous meals at Locanda Amalfi and many of their other locations. He grew up making pizza with his aunt in Naples and brought that magic to Pleasanton after stints in Danville and beyond. If you haven’t been to Locanda Amalfi yet, now’s the time—amazing food, a true Italian vibe, and yes, globally recognized pizza. Let’s show him some local love!

Locanda Amalfi is located at 349 Main st. in Pleasanton. They also have locations in Danville, Lafayette, Campbell, Brentwood, and Livermore.

• This weekend is full of fun things to do (more details coming in our Thursday Newsletter)! I LOVE Indian food as does my whole family. If you love it too, check out the Great Indian Food & Shopping Fest at City Center Bishop Ranch on Saturday May 10th from 2-10pm. Music, Food, raffles, live performances, and a Mango Fest!

• Before you head to the Great Indian Food Fest, stop by the 9th Annual Livermore Valley Craft Beer Festival at Las Positas College. 40 Breweries, Live Music, Food Trucks and more. Tickets available here.

• Need another option for Saturday May 20th? The Pleasanton Downtown Wine Stroll is going on from 5-8pm. I’ve done this a couple times and it’s always a blast.

• Looks like the Springtown golf course area in Livermore will be turned into an 18 hole disc golf course with a community park and all sorts of family-friendly activities!

• We’ve all done karaoke—but Middle 8 Bar in Pleasanton is taking it to the next level. Every Tuesday night at 8pm, they’re flipping the script with Live Piano Karaoke! Yep, you sing your favorite songs accompanied by a real piano player (don’t worry, lyrics are still on screen). It’s a fresh, fun twist on the classic karaoke night!

• Dublin American Idol Contestant was eliminated last week - but he had a great run!
