Killer Date Night Combo: Comfort Food + Password-Protected Cocktails

When did Livermore get so damn cool? The answer: when Sons of Liberty Alehouse opened their speakeasy-style Honeycomb Cocktail Lounge next door.

First, grab dinner at SOLA. The crispy baby back ribs hit that perfect balance of tang, sweetness, and spice. The poutine (yes, poutine in California!) features housemade gravy and cheese curds that'll make you swoon. Don't skip the Maui Waui IPA Beer Battered Fish & Chips – this local collab earned approval from my fish & chips snob husband. And that Buttermilk Fried Chicken Sandwich with jalapeño slaw? Chef's kiss.

Try their seasonal Fall Old Fashioned with bourbon, apple bitters, cinnamon simple syrup, and lemon – autumn in a glass.

Then slip next door to Honeycomb. Look for the beehive panel (no sign!), find the password on their Instagram, and enter through the hidden door in the mirrored wall.

The cocktails aren't just delicious – they're pure artistry. I had one of the best mezcal cocktails of my life: the Miel de Mezcal with toasted corn-infused Del Maguey Vida Mezcal, lemon, orgeat, and cotija foam with pico chile dust. The smoky mezcal paired with that unexpected cotija foam and subtle heat? Absolutely next-level. Or try the Queen's Elixir with its peachy-pink perfection and gorgeous garnishes.

The 1-2 punch of SOLA and Honeycomb is the perfect night out. Trust me, you'll want to experience this Livermore gem.

Two Local Wineries Receive National Recognition

Big news for Livermore’s wine scene! 🍷 Two local wineries — Darcie Kent Estate Winery and Rosa Fierro Cellars— were just ranked No. 2 and No. 3 on The Zoe Report’s list of the Top 10 Women-Owned Wineries in the U.S.

Darcie Kent Estate, now in its sixth generation, continues to blend art, community, and exceptional winemaking, with Darcie’s vibrant label paintings and her daughters leading the next chapter. Meanwhile, Rosa Fierro Cellars shines for its friendly, down-to-earth tasting room and bold, expressive wines.

It’s an incredible honor for the Livermore Valley, celebrating two trailblazing women whose creativity and passion continue to elevate the region’s wine culture. Cheers, ladies! 🥂

Danville Resident Launches National Dog Treat Brand!

🐾 Big news for local dog lovers!

Danville resident Mike Wickman has launched Champ’s Pet Kitchen, a new line of healthy, affordable dog treats made right here in our backyard — and I can’t wait for my pup, Beau Nugget, to try them! 🐶

These soft-chew treats are packed with lean protein (25%) and made without corn, wheat, soy, or fillers. Flavors include beef, pork, chicken, and two grain-free options — chicken and salmon.

After a ribbon-cutting at their Front Street location, Champ’s is gearing up to hit major grocery stores across Northern California and big chains across the country in 2026.

Learn more at champspetkitchen.com — your pup will thank you!
