Danville’s Crush’d Wine Bar + Kitchen Needs to be on Your List!
Taste Tri-Valley Restaurant Week is officially ON — and I kicked things off at Crush’d Wine Bar + Kitchen in Danville. Let’s just say… they absolutely crushed it.
If you’re looking for a reservation this week, their $45 three-course prix fixe is not only spectacular, the value is incredible.
The hubs and I went full strategy mode and ordered different items so we could try as much as possible. I paired mine with one of their mix-and-match wine flights (which I LOVE). You can choose from a wide range of under-the-radar producers, domestic favorites, and international gems. Such a fun way to taste. My husband went the cocktail route and I may have stolen a few sips of his mezcal-based Smoke & Thorns. Highly recommend.
We started with the Bravas Spiced Duck Fat Potatoes (dangerously good). Standouts from the prix fixe:
• Wild Mushroom Soup – earthy, creamy, perfect with the dippable toast.
• Dungeness Crab Roll – buttery bread, generously loaded with tasty crab.
• Duck Leg Confit – rich, flavorful, and those butter beans? So good.
Dessert? The Cheesecake Trio was delicious… but the Bread Pudding? OMG. Worth the reservation alone.
From the service to the food to the beverage program, everything felt dialed in.
Restaurant Week runs through Sunday, March 1st with 60+ restaurants and wineries offering special experiences. If you can’t make it to Crush’d before Sunday, be sure to check it out. It’s a foodie destination in Danville to add to your list. 🍷

After 50 Years, Workbench Hardware Closes Valley Plaza Location

After more than 50 years serving the community from its Valley Plaza location, Workbench True Value Hardware will close its Santa Rita Road store this Saturday and consolidate operations at its downtown Pleasanton shop (652 Main st).
Owner Fred Nichandros shared that while he is incredibly grateful for decades of local support, the long term plan was always to focus on the Main Street location, where business has naturally shifted over the years.

Pet of the Week - Meet Fruit Bat!

Meet your new favorite creature of the night — Fruit Bat! This little wonder is proof that the sweetest things come in small packages, just like the tropical fruit his namesake loves.
He’s thriving in foster care with dogs, cats, and humans, soaking up playtime and politely charming everyone he meets like the social butterfly — or should we say, social bat — that he is.
If you’re ready to let this young adult pup win your heart and hang around your home, Fruit Bat is ready to meet you.
