I've been seeing The Great Greek Mediterranean Grill pop up on my feed for months, and after spending time in Greece earlier this year, I'd been craving those authentic Mediterranean flavors. Last week, I finally stopped by the San Ramon location (they also have one in Danville) with the family to see if it lived up to the hype. Spoiler: it absolutely did!
Ambience & Service: Fast-casual setup, but don't let that fool you—the quality rivals any full-service Greek spot. Order at the counter, grab a seat, and they bring everything out. Staff was friendly, efficient, and clearly proud of what they're serving. Clean, bright, and welcoming—perfect for a quick lunch or casual family dinner.
Drinks: Standard beverage lineup—soft drinks, bottled water, maybe a few specialty options. This isn't a cocktail spot, but you're here for the food anyway.
Food: We went big and ordered family-style to try as much as possible. Here's the breakdown:
Warm Pita & Hummus: Soft, warm bread with smooth, well-seasoned hummus. The perfect starter.
Feta Fries: Do yourself a favor and upgrade your fries. Cheesy, salty, addictive goodness. You'll finish these fast!
Great Greek Gyro: Loaded with beef and lamb, all the fixings, wrapped tight. This is what I came for and loved it! 🌯
Falafel Pita: Crispy, golden chickpea fritters tucked into warm pita. Pure comfort food!
Grilled Steak Souvlaki: Tender, juicy, perfectly seasoned skewers. Disappeared in seconds!
Grilled Chicken Souvlaki: Flavorful, well-marinated chicken that didn't dry out. Another winner.
Baklava: Flaky, nutty, perfectly sweet. My daughter is a baklava connoisseur, and she gave this one two thumbs up.
The Verdict: The Great Greek absolutely delivers on flavor, freshness, and portion size — all without the sit-down price tag. 🇬🇷✨ Every dish tastes bright and freshly made, portions are super generous, and the seasoning is spot-on. Whether you’re grabbing a quick bite or feeding the whole family, this spot is totally worth it. We’re already planning our next visit! 🍽️💙
