Hidden Food Gems in the Tri-Valley

Some of the best food in the Tri-Valley might be coming from a kitchen right in your own neighborhood!

I love discovering local food businesses, especially when they're creating something a little different. That's why I wanted to introduce you to Home Food Central.

Home Food Central (HFC) is a local, female-founded platform connecting food lovers with licensed and certified home chefs and bakers throughout the Bay Area.

Think authentic homemade meals, incredible baked goods, specialty desserts, and family recipes you might not find at your usual restaurants.

And the food options sound delicious!

Here's a taste of what's available:

  • Homemade Meals: Peruvian fusion empanadas from CTK Empanadas and unique small group experiences by 23rd ParallelSupper sharing the heritage and flavors from central states of India

  • Cookies & Sweet Treats: Seasonal cookies from Dom Appetit Cookies, Rose Pistachio cookies from Masala Oven, and creative gifts from Lollies and Drops.

  • Freshly Baked Breads: Homemade sourdough from TriValley Treats, including Jalapeño Cheddar, and vegan Pumpkin Bread from Bluebird Treats.

Many items are available for local delivery or shipping.

I especially love that every order supports local entrepreneurs and families.

Are you a talented home cook or baker?
HFC is also recruiting local food creators, offering technology, marketing support, and guidance on obtaining the permits and certifications needed to get started.

Explore the delicious options at homefoodcentral.com.

News Around the Valley!

You Had me at Veuve Clicquot!

I know this is still a few weeks away, but this is one brunch I'm already looking forward to!

Locanda Wine Bar in downtown Livermore is hosting a Veuve Clicquot brunch, and honestly, all you have to say is Veuve and I'm there!

Glasses of Veuve Clicquot Yellow Label will be just $15, or you can make a morning of it with a $35 brunch that includes a glass of Veuve, eggs, roasted bacon, sausage, Belgian waffles, and country potatoes.

And for anyone who doesn't want to miss their Sunday football, they'll have the NFL games on TV, too!

Ladies, grab your guy (or your girlfriends!) and head downtown for some bubbles, brunch, and football. Sounds like a pretty perfect Sunday to me! Click here for more details!

Howl-O-Wine Party this Saturday!

I know there are a ton of Halloween events happening this weekend, but if you're looking for something fun to do instead of staying home passing out candy, this is one to check out!

Steven Kent Winery and Rosa Fierro Cellars are hosting their annual Howl-O-Wine Party on the patio, and it's always a great time!

I've been to this event many times over the years, and it's one of those nights I always enjoy. Great wine, live music, delicious food, and a fun crowd. What's not to love?

Algo Mas will be playing live with their Santana covers and Latin-rock vibes, while Carnitas Aguirre will be serving up some fantastic Mexican food. And of course, there will be plenty of delicious wines available by the glass or bottle from both Steven Kent and Rosa Fierro.

Admission is free, with food and wine available for purchase.

One tip from experience: This patio gets packed, so get there early if you want a good seat!

Holiday Ice Skating Returns to City Center Bishop Ranch!

One of my favorite things about the holidays is all the fun seasonal activities popping up around the Tri-Valley, and here's one to put on your calendar!

The Holiday Ice Rink at City Center Bishop Ranch in San Ramon returns November 6 through January 3, and this year there's something new. For the first time, the rink will have an overhead canopy, so you can enjoy skating rain or shine!

They're also offering some fun extras this season:

  • Learn to Skate Academy: A five-week Saturday morning program for kids ages 5–14, starting November 14. $169 per child.

  • Warm-Up Lounge Fire Pits: Reserve a cozy spot rinkside starting at $50, complete with a s'mores kit.

  • Kristi Yamaguchi Skating Clinic: A special opportunity for ages 5 and up to learn from skating instructors and get tips from Olympic champion Kristi Yamaguchi on November 7, from 9–10am. Just $60, with skate rental included. Limited to 50 skaters!

Whether you're bringing the kids, planning a date night, or just looking for something festive to do, this is a fun way to get into the holiday spirit.
