Looking for something festive, family-friendly, or just a little red, white, and blue this Fourth of July? Here’s what’s happening across the Tri-Valley—and a few fireworks shows worth the short drive.

Dublin

💥 Safe & Sane Fireworks | July 4, 10am–10pm
You can light fireworks—but only at these four designated parks: Shannon Park, Dublin Sports Grounds, Alamo Creek Park, and Emerald Glen Park. And these fireworks must be purchased from designated boths in Dublin - click here for the location list.

• Sales: June 28–July 5 via non-profit booths

• Important: Fireworks (even “safe & sane”) are not allowed at multi-housing units, schools, or other parks. Dublin has a strict zero-tolerance policy with hefty fines and potential jail time for illegal fireworks.

Danville

🎉 Kiwanis 4th of July Parade | July 4th, 9am–12pm
Grab your coffee and claim a spot along Hartz Avenue or San Ramon Valley Blvd for this small-town favorite. The parade starts at San Ramon Valley High School and wraps at Town & Country Drive. Great vibes, classic fun, and room for everyone.

Livermore

🏃 Independence Day Dash 5K + Kids’ Run | July 4th, 8–10am
Start the day strong at Sycamore Grove Park with a scenic 5K, followed by a 400-meter kids’ dash. Bonus points for patriotic gear!

✈️ 4th of July Celebration at Livermore Municipal Airport | July 4th, 9am–1pm
The 2nd Annual event at the Livermore Municipal Airport features aircraft displays, food trucks, live music, a kids’ zone, STEM fun, a magician, and more. A great option for families!

Pleasanton

🎶 Patriotic Sing-Along Concert | July 4th, 12–1:30pm
Join the Pleasanton Community Concert Band for this free performance in celebration of their 50th anniversary—hosted by Make A Difference for Pleasanton.

🎡 Alameda County Fair | July 4, 10am–8pm
No fireworks this year, but plenty of food, rides, and summer fun all day long.

San Ramon

🎶 Summer Concert Series | July 4th, 5pm

Celebrate July 4th at the Alameda County Fair, open with special hours from 10am-8pm. Family fun all day long with classics like Fair food and carnival rides, plus Monster Trucks beginning at 6pm. A groundbreaking moment for the team and for women in baseball!

•  One deep dish spot makes way for another! The former Patxi’s Pizza location in downtown Livermore is getting a delicious new tenant: Zachary’s Pizza! This beloved, employee-owned pizzeria already has five East Bay locations and is known for its iconic deep dish and welcoming vibe. • Over 50 pairs of shoes were stolen from the Livermore Outlets last week - Livermore Police were alerted by mall security about a man seen running out of the Livermore Outlets with shopping bags full of merchandise and getting into a vehicle. They found the vehicle soon after with nearly $6000 worth of shoes!

🛳️ What It’s Really Like to Cruise Europe as a Family - Part 2. The Ports of Call

Last week, I shared the onboard experience of cruising Europe with teens aboard the MSC Divina. This week, I’m diving into the ports of call—and let me tell you, I’d do this exact itinerary all over again in a heartbeat.

From beachside bliss in Mykonos to the ancient ruins of Ephesus in Turkey, each stop brought something unforgettable. We wandered the cliffside streets of Santorini, lunched at a family-run microgreens farm, revisited Pompeii (nearly 20 years after our honeymoon!), and ended with the kind of pizza you dream about. It was part adventure, part history, part food tour—and the perfect mix for a family trip.
