Can Fries Be Life-Changing? Only if They Taste Like This!
š New Spot Alert: The Hangout Livermore š»
The hubs and I stopped by the Grand Opening of the Hangout Livermore (1524 N. Vasco Rd.), and we were blown away by how much they transformed the space. This spot has seen a few restaurants over the years, but the remodel makes it feel totally newābright, inviting, and perfect for catching a game with the large screen TVās on every wall. Check out my instagram post for more photos and video!
The staff was welcoming, and we let them guide us toward some favorites (with a few things we had to try ourselves!). Hereās the lineup:
Tandoor Wings ā baked, not fried, with just the right spice and crispness.
Buffalo Wings ā tangy, flavorful, and a classic done right.
Peri Peri Fries ā crispy, golden, and topped with one of the best Peri Peri sauces Iāve ever tasted. Addictive!
Chicken Tikka Masala Pizza ā cheesy, bold, and bursting with flavorāan Indian-inspired pizza that totally works.
Pepperoni Pizza ā traditional, simple, and delicious.
On the drinks side, theyāve got 11 beers on tap (local, micro, and macro brews) plus a list of ~8 wines, both red and white.
The Hangout Livermore has āgo-to spotā written all over it - especially for watching sports with friends. We canāt wait to come back with the kids!

Whatās Next for the Martinelli Center?

Thereās new momentum around the Martinelli Center on Greenville Road, which has sat mostly quiet since the pandemic. Alameda County officials shared plans to revitalize the 20-year-old building, which currently houses offices for Livermore Valley Wine Country and the Resource Conservation District, but hasnāt used its event space in years.
The vision? A refreshed facility that could serve as both a visitor hub for wine country and an event center hosting weddings, gatherings, and weekend programs. A market study found strong potential, especially given the Centerās location at the gateway to Livermoreās vineyards.
The timing aligns with the planned sewer line extension from Livermore to Greenville Road, approved by voters in 2024, which will allow businesses like lodging and hospitality to grow in South Livermore Valley.
The county expects to issue a request for proposals this fall, with operator selection in springāopening the door to a new chapter for this important community space.

šØ Heads Up, Livermore: New Mosquito Alert šØ

Neighbors, this is one youāll want to act on quickly. The Alameda County Mosquito Abatement District has confirmed an invasive mosquito species in LivermoreāAedes aegypti. These little pests are daytime biters (unlike the usual kind weāre used to) and are known carriers of illnesses like dengue, Zika, chikungunya, and yellow fever.
Theyāve been found in the area west of Brookmeadow Park, between N. Mines Rd. and East Ave. Today, ACMAD crews will be out in uniform and white trucks, checking properties for breeding grounds.
Hereās what you can do:
Walk your yard and dump any standing waterāflowerpot saucers, bird baths, buckets, even a bottle cap can be a breeding site.
Keep an eye out for unusual daytime mosquito activity.
If you notice something, call ACMAD at 510-783-7744 or visit their website.
Quick action from all of us is the best way to stop this mosquito from settling into our community.
