Dublin-Pleasanton BART at Risk of Closure

🚨 Major Changes Could Be Coming to BART — Including Dublin-Pleasanton Stations
BART officials are warning that significant service cuts — and even station closures — could happen if voters reject a proposed regional sales tax measure headed for the ballot.
If funding falls short, the Dublin-Pleasanton line would be hit hard. Early plans could include closing the West Dublin-Pleasanton Station, reducing train frequency to every 30 minutes, ending service around 9pm, and raising fares. In a second phase, the Dublin-Pleasanton station itself could close, and the Blue Line connecting the Tri-Valley to Daly City would be eliminated.
BART has faced steep budget shortfalls since 2020 as ridership dropped and federal relief funding expired. While short-term loans are helping temporarily, long-term stability hinges on a proposed “Connect Bay Area” sales tax measure.
For Tri-Valley commuters, this isn’t abstract — it could directly impact daily travel, commute times, and regional access starting as soon as 2027. Check out more information here.

Vincere for Valentine’s!
💘🍷 If you’re looking for a fun (and delicious) way to kick off Valentine’s and President’s Day weekend, this is such a great option.
On February 13th at 5:30pm, you’re invited to the Steven Kent Winery Club Lounge for an exclusive seated tasting of three vintages of Vincere — the newly released 2023, a recently discovered 2018 stash, and a special non-vintage originally released in 2015.
You’ll also get barrel samples of Sangiovese and Cabernet Sauvignon that will be part of an upcoming Vincere release — always one of my favorite wines.
Steven, Aidan, and Beth will be there sharing the wines and stories, making it the perfect pre-dinner start to your weekend. Only $35 per person.

Local Lunar New Year Celebrations

🐴✨ The Year of the Horse is here — symbolizing energy, forward momentum, and bold new beginnings — and the Tri-Valley is celebrating all month long!
In Pleasanton, the Firehouse Arts Center is hosting a free Lunar New Year celebration on Feb. 14 featuring storytelling, performances by XiaoPei Chinese Dance and Kung Fu Dragon USA, plus family-friendly crafts. On Feb. 21, Stoneridge Shopping Center joins the festivities with cultural performances, giveaways, and special shopping promotions.
Livermore Valley Arts will host a free downtown celebration Feb. 22 with dance performances, lantern-making, educational games, and hands-on art activities for families.
And at San Francisco Premium Outlets, expect a Lion Dance, food trucks, calligraphy workshops, and retailer pop-ups with limited-time deals.
It’s a beautiful reminder of how much culture and community we get to experience right here at home.
