Light as a Feather Meal Prep - Weeknight Dinner Planning Solved!
Let’s be honest. Figuring out what to make for dinner after a full day of work, kid taxiing, and squeezing meals in between evening practices can feel like one more job at the end of an already long day.
I’ve been looking for a meal prep option that is healthy, delicious, affordable, and local, and we found it with Light As A Feather Meal Prep.
Light As A Feather is based in the East Bay and run by husband-and-wife team Wilson and Stephanie.
What started in 2017 as Wilson meal prepping for himself while training for a men’s physique bodybuilding competition turned into cooking for friends and family, and eventually grew into the business they run today.
My family tried Light As A Feather for a couple of weeks, and we are hooked.
The meals are fresh, flavorful, high in protein, and super affordable, with dinners starting at only $8.50. They also offer vegan and breakfast options!
The food was delivered on Monday, and here’s what we tried:
Ground Beef Bulgogi with Butter Miso Noodles
A total hit, with 40g of protein and only 440 calories.
Peruvian Chicken Breast with Jasmine Rice
My personal favorite. Flavorful, filling, and only 330 calories with 38g of protein.
Lean n’ Mean Steak with Jasmine Rice
My son was all over this one for a post-workout meal. Tender chunks of steak with 38g of protein and 330 calories.
Garlic Ranch Chicken Thigh with Garden Blend Rice
Another full-family win, with 31g of protein and 350 calories.
We loved having something different to try each night, and I loved knowing everyone could eat something healthy before or after practice.
And the best part? No dishes.
The Tri-Valley Explorer family gives Light As A Feather two big thumbs up.

Laughs in a Glass This FRIDAY at 3 Steves Winery!
If you’ve been following Tri-Valley Explorer over the past year, you’ve probably seen me post about Laughs in a Glass at 3 Steves Winery.
They host it on the first Friday of every month, and I’ll be back at this week’s show!
It’s such a fun night out with friends: comedy, wine, craft beer, and always a great food truck. This month is also the first outdoor show of the season, and the weather is looking perfect.
Doors open at 6pm
Show starts at 7:30pm
Your host for the night is local comedian Brian Maggi, with a lineup featuring Clay Newman, Ino Inanc, and Finn Forman.
Proceeds benefit Culinary Angels, and you can save 10% on tickets with promo code TRIVALLEYEXPLORER.
And here’s a fun bonus: if you buy tickets to Laughs in a Glass, you’ll also receive $10 off tickets to Saturday’s show at 3 Steves featuring live music from Mitch Polzak.
Think rockabilly, 60s country, honky tonk, and a little Merle Haggard, Waylon Jennings, and Jerry Lee Lewis energy.

In Partnership with Connect California Homes
Connect California Homes Listing of the Month!

The home market is heating up again, and so is the weather.
This month’s featured home is a 4-bedroom, 3-bath Del Prado home with about 2,000 square feet of living space on a nearly 8,000-square-foot lot.
Some homes just feel like they have a story, and this one has been loved by its original family for more than 55 years.
It has a flexible floor plan with a main-level bedroom, updated bathrooms, a refreshed kitchen, fresh paint, and new flooring throughout.
The backyard is a sweet one too, with a generous lawn, brick patio, mature garden, and established plum, cherry, and apricot trees.
And the location is hard to beat, with Hansen Park, Walnut Grove Elementary, Harvest Park Middle, and Amador Valley High nearby. Click here to learn more!
